The “Next-Gen Skills” program is an innovative 3-year project funded by Mercy Corps and USAID. It aims to address the urgent requirement of aligning the skills of young people in Palestine with the demands of the job market, with the ultimate goal of reducing youth unemployment. The project seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical education and actual market requirements, enabling Palestinian youth to excel in both the local and global employment market. With the country facing a significant labor market imbalance and a lack of practical training in educational institutions, the project endeavors to enhance the capabilities of at least 3000 university students in soft and technical skills, focusing on private sector, NGO, SMEs, entrepreneurship, and freelancing skills. Through tailored training sessions and mentorship programs, the project aims to empower participants to become competitive candidates in the job market, thereby contributing to the overall advancement and independence of the Palestinian economy.
